THORNVILLE, OH - The nationally renowned and ranked competitive show choir, "Northern Stars", at Sheridan High School has received their second consecutive national FAME Aspire Award nomination in the "Most Promising New Program" category. Their Nashville, Tennessee based choreographer and show designer, Dallas Pritt also received his second nomination for "Best New Choreographer" following last year's announcement as well. Both McClain (Director) and Pritt will be venturing up to Illinois' Chicagoland area for the awards ceremony, dinner and Show Choir National Finals. Alongside the "Northern Stars" staff members being recognized, the group's custom music arranger, Nick Brockamp of Indiana, received his first FAME Aspire nomination for Best Arranger.
This year, the Sheridan show choir celebrated it's fifth year of competitive success under the direction of Beth McClain with choreography and show design by Dallas Pritt. Artistic assistance was by Audra Chaffin, Isaiah Ruyf, and Macie Smith, music was arranged by Nick Brockamp, and costumes were designed by Randall S. Lanoue. Over the past half-decade the group has obtained caption awards such as Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Band, Best Crew, Best Show Design, and Best Costumes, alongside placing in multiple finals in Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia!
This spring, the program will be hosting its first alumni anniversary concert, reuniting past members of the crew, band, and singer/dancers for a performance on Saturday, May 12 at 4:00 PM. There will be an entrance charge for the concert of $3 and children five years and under are free! The public is welcome and encouraged to partake in the event.
